At CES 2025, the innovative minds at Japan-based Shiftall, known for their MeganeX PC VR headsets, unveiled two exciting new VR controller accessories. Among them is a SteamVR-compatible controller designed for PC VR, alongside a distinctive add-on for Quest Touch controllers, which introduces a scroll wheel and extra buttons for enhanced functionality.

Among the new releases is Shiftall’s first standard PC VR controller, aptly named GripVR. Tailored for SteamVR Tracking systems (versions 1.0 and 2.0), this controller sticks to a familiar layout, featuring AB/XY input buttons, pushable joysticks, triggers, and grips. Notably, each component is integrated with capacitive touch sensors to elevate the user experience.
GripVR is not just practical but also durable, boasting an impressive eight-hour battery life and recharging options via a USB Type-C port. As a SteamVR tracked accessory, it’s compatible with a range of SteamVR headsets, such as the Valve Index, HTC Vive, and Shiftall’s own MeganeX superlight “8K” headset.
Shiftall plans to release GripVR in the summer, with its price estimated between $299 and $399.
### AddCon

Shiftall also rolled out AddCon, a unique add-on accessory crafted for the left-hand Touch controllers of Quest 3/3S/Pro. This gadget enhances the controller’s capability by adding a scroll wheel and additional buttons, potentially simplifying interactions with 2D UI elements and optimizing controls for popular platforms like VRChat.
A standout feature of the AddCon is its shift function, enabled by an embedded capacitive sensor located on the pinky finger rest. This allows users to switch between command sets with ease.
Shiftall envisions AddCon as a solution for VR enthusiasts seeking more versatile control options, whether for camera adjustments or handling avatar functions within VRChat. Users can customize over 14 different inputs via a dedicated PC application, which also doubles as an OSC command transmission tool for standalone VRChat setups.
Connecting AddCon to Quest is seamless, utilizing Bluetooth LE or a GX6/GX2 dongle. Charging is straightforward with the USB Type-C port. Scheduled for a summer 2025 launch, this add-on is priced at a competitive $69 for a single left-hand Touch accessory.
These announcements follow last year’s unveiling of the MeganeX superlight “8K” PC VR headset, slated for release in early 2025 at $1,899. This new MeganeX model, compatible with SteamVR, promises a sleek, lightweight design paired with dual 4K high-resolution OLED panels.
In our coverage, you’ll notice we’ve placed the “8K” label of the MeganeX superlight 8K in quotes. This clarifies that the 8K designation doesn’t directly represent the actual specifications of the headset, which actually features dual 3,552 × 3,840 OLED displays.
