Originally set for a January 21st release, COLD VR faced a last-minute delay from developer ALLWARE and publisher Perp Games, who explained the game needed a bit more refinement. Now, fans can look forward to a firm release on February 11th.
The game is being billed as a spiritual successor to the wildly popular Superhot VR, but with its own unique twist on time-bending action. In COLD VR, the mechanics build on the clever interplay between movement and time. Each step you take actually slows down time, demanding quick thinking and nimble reactions. Hesitate for too long, and you’ll find your adversaries revving up their pace.
Initially, COLD VR will be available on Quest and PC VR headsets. You can grab it from the Horizon Store for Quest 2/3/Pro or on Steam for PC VR, all for a price tag of $20. There’s also exciting news for PSVR 2 users—while it hasn’t landed there just yet, you can already add it to your wishlist on the PlayStation Store, hinting that a release is on the horizon.
