You read that right—PlayStation Network (PSN) is down at the moment. Whether you’re on a PlayStation 4 or a PlayStation 5, the online services are taking a temporary break. I’m sorry to say, but your gaming session will have to wait.
Currently, the only official word comes from the Ask PlayStation Japan Twitter account. They’ve issued a translated statement via Twitter’s built-in tool.
The message reads: “Right now, PlayStation™ Network (including PlayStation® Store) might not be accessible. We deeply apologize to our customers for the trouble. We’re investigating the situation and working hard to restore service, so please bear with us.”
In other words, Sony is aware of the problem, but there’s no update on a fix just yet. It seems we’ll have to hang tight for now. It’s a particularly bad time for this to happen too. The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta is in full swing, and PlayStation users are stuck watching from the sidelines while Xbox and PC players dive right in and enjoy the action. Even if you didn’t have plans to try out Wilds, it’s the weekend! This is when folks with busy work weeks finally have some time to dive into their favorite games. Fingers crossed, the outage doesn’t last too long.
