Rebellion is stepping up its game with the upcoming release of the Zombie Army series’ first foray into virtual reality, putting its popular co-op campaign right into your VR headset next month.
Hitting major platforms like Quest 2, PSVR 2, and SteamVR headsets on May 22nd, Zombie Army VR is poised to immerse players in the same gripping zombie-slaying action fans love. You’ll join the ranks of the Deadhunters, an elite group committed to thwarting the apocalypse at every turn.
According to Rebellion, players will find themselves battling relentless undead swarms in a war-torn Nuremberg, all in a bid to assist Captain Hermann Wolff, the Deadhunter’s revered leader. The story unfolds as you help him locate his lost family and fight to liberate Europe from the zombie invasion.
This game promises a comprehensive, story-rich campaign, playable solo or with a friend in two-player co-op mode. It stays true to its roots with a WWII-era arsenal—think sniper rifles, submachine guns, and pistols—that you can dual-wield and load manually for an authentic feel.
As you progress, you’ll gain XP to power up your character and can use Weapon Upgrade kits. These kits let you tweak your gear, enhancing range, accuracy, scope, and capacity.
The adversary lineup won’t disappoint, featuring the series’ notorious foes like Armored Giants, Suiciders, Sniper Zombies, and other horrors. Another thrilling feature making its return is the X-ray Kill Cam. Originally seen in Rebellion’s Sniper Elite VR from 2021, this feature lets you witness your precision kills in slow-motion detail.
For those eager to get in on the action, pre-orders for Zombie Army VR are now available. You can grab it on the Horizon Store for Quest 2, the PlayStation Store for PSVR 2, or Steam for PC VR headsets. Currently, it’s offered at a 10% discount off its standard $30 price.
