Originally debuted in 2019 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, The Sinking City received a decent reception. On Metacritic, it earned an average score of 71 based on 47 critic reviews.
“The Sinking City is a blend of adventure and investigation, set within an open world steeped in the eerie universe of H.P. Lovecraft,” the game’s description highlights. “In the partially submerged city of Oakmont, an eerie supernatural force holds sway. As a private investigator, it’s your task to uncover the truth behind the city’s possession – and the dark grip on its citizens’ minds.”
In the preceding year, Frogwares took the reins as the game’s sole publisher across all platforms. Not long after, they also unveiled plans for The Sinking City 2, anticipated to be released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC later this year.
