Last year, Delta Force made a comeback on PC, sparking renewed interest in this iconic tactical shooter series. But now, it’s spreading its wings further by reaching a fresh audience on mobile devices. The buzz surrounding the mobile release has been tremendous, with over 20 million players already registered on both Android and iOS before the official launch date of April 21st.
We caught up with Leo Yao, the Head of Studio, and Shadow Guo, Game Director at Team Jade, to dive into details about developing Delta Force Mobile. They discussed the game’s content, its impressive graphics and optimization, and the emphasis on a play-to-win rather than pay-to-win experience.
### Bringing Epic Battles to Your Fingertips
Delta Force stays true to its roots with realistic battlefields, class-based Operators, a wide array of weapons, and multiple game modes that merge nostalgia with modern gaming. Whether you’re a lone wolf or a team player, there are modes for everyone, including the groundbreaking 24v24 battles complete with vehicles and a unique PvPvE mode focused on extraction. The development team aimed for consistency and quality across all platforms, ensuring the mobile experience captures the original thrill.
“Our mission was to deliver a high-quality AAA shooter experience on mobile, mirroring the excitement and immersion players have on PC,” Guo explains. “We pushed boundaries with innovative features like the first-ever large-scale 24v24 battleground on mobile, ensuring players encounter fresh and thrilling encounters they’ve never experienced before.”
### Gaming Without Borders
Delta Force Mobile isn’t just for fresh eyes; it’s bridging the gap for long-time PC players too, allowing them to continue their journey on the go. A crucial element of this endeavor is its cross-progression feature, which is supported by Google Play Games on PC. This feature ensures that your progress, including 7 Warfare maps, 4 Operation maps, 10 Operators, 12 vehicles, and 55 weapon sets, is synchronized across both platforms.
“We aimed to create a seamless experience that caters to all kinds of players,” Yao explains. “Whether it’s a quick match on a phone during a commute or an extended session on PC with friends, we’ve ensured the game is enjoyable and accessible on every platform.”
### Inclusive Gaming for All Devices
The mantra “No One Gets Left Behind” resonates with their approach to mobile optimization. The Delta Force team committed to ensuring the game performs optimally across various devices, including older models like the iPhone 7. This guarantees that players worldwide can access and enjoy the game without performance concerns.
“Ensuring the game is playable on a wide range of devices was a priority for us,” states Yao. “We wanted players to jump into the action without worrying about their phone’s capabilities.”
The mobile version doesn’t skimp on visuals either. Leveraging global illumination systems, it brings high-resolution graphics that create an immersive world. From lifelike operators and intricate weapon designs to expansive maps and standout effects, the visual fidelity is top-notch.
Shooter enthusiasts demand high FPS, and Delta Force delivers with up to 120 FPS, thanks to advanced technologies like Vulkan and Metal. The game achieves about 50% better efficiency compared to leading mobile shooters, solidifying its status as a performance benchmark. With minimal input-lag, it’s designed as a smooth and responsive shooter experience.
### The Spirit of Play-To-Win
Delta Force champions a play-to-win progression model, rewarding dedication and participation. From day one, mobile players will find a treasure trove of rewards waiting just for logging in and playing. With $500 worth of goodies available, including 148 weapon skins, 21 vehicle designs, and over 270 other rewards, there’s plenty of encouragement to press on.
“We’re dedicated to cultivating a non-pay-to-win environment, guided by player feedback and passion,” highlights the team. “Rewarding players for their progress is central to our philosophy, always keeping the community at heart.”
