Kluge Interactive, known for their successful VR rhythm game, Synth Riders (2019), is set to launch their new VR fighting game, FINAL FURY, in early access for Quest and SteamVR headsets next month.
Mark your calendars for May 8th! That’s when Final Fury is set to debut on Quest 2 and above, as well as PC VR headsets. This game aims to deliver an arcade-style fighting experience, blending classic 1v1 battles with innovative gesture-based gameplay.
With insights from nine-time EVO champion Justin Wong, the early access release boasts a dynamic mix of hand gestures and actual room-scale movement. Players can embody six unique fighters, each with distinct moves and stages, with promises of more content post-launch.
"When Kluge Interactive reached out about FINAL FURY, I was fascinated by their vision of merging traditional fighting game elements into a first-person VR setting," Wong shared. "After getting hands-on experience and providing feedback on aspects like dashes and character styles, I’m eager to see how players will embrace the game during Early Access."
Here’s what to expect at launch:
- You are the Fighter! – Immerse yourself in VR combat with real punches, dodges, and blocks.
- Innovative VR Combat – Classic fighting mechanics reimagined for a physical VR experience.
- Expanding Roster – Six fighters, each with unique abilities, arenas, and styles, with more to come.
- Arcade Mode Unlocks – Challenge the AI to unlock new fighters, stages, and cosmetics.
- Online Multiplayer – Enjoy cross-platform play with rollback netcode for smooth competition.
- Pulse-Pounding OST – Featuring an original soundtrack by Zardonic (SUPERHOT: MCD).
You can add Final Fury to your wishlist right now on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and above, and on Steam for PC VR headsets. It’s dropping on May 8th for just $9.99.
