Just yesterday, Bigscreen opened up orders for the new Beyond 2 PC VR headset, which promises an enhanced field of view and sharper clarity thanks to its innovative pancake lens design. Remarkably, within just 10 hours of going live, Beyond 2’s sales have already surpassed those of the original Beyond by a considerable margin.
Throughout the day, Bigscreen shared updates on X detailing the headset’s impressive reception among VR enthusiasts. “In just the first 25 minutes, Beyond 2 outpaced the entire first day’s sales of Beyond 1. Within the first hour, sales numbers had doubled compared to Beyond 1’s launch day,” the company shared early on the day.
As the hours ticked by, Bigscreen continued to shed light on the sales figures for both Beyond 2 and its eye-tracking variant, Beyond 2e. The latest numbers are quite astounding. “In just 10 hours after launch, Beyond 2 has exceeded what Beyond 1 sold in its first four months.”
Currently, any new orders for Beyond 2 and Beyond 2e are projected to ship by June 2025. They have already outstripped the initial shipment batches intended for April and May.
So, what’s fuelling the buzz around Beyond 2? For a deep dive, you can explore the detailed specs available here, but a significant draw might be Bigscreen’s straightforward upgrade path. Current Beyond 1 users receive a purchasing discount—$849 for the Beyond 2 and $1,049 for the Beyond 2e. Plus, this new model maintains backward compatibility with most Beyond 1 accessories, like the essential custom facial interface.
Beyond 2 introduces a cutting-edge pancake lens design, offering a broader 116-degree diagonal FOV, an adjustable IPD setting, and a lighter build at just 107g. The 2e variant ups the game with AI-driven eye-tracking. Although it retains the dual 1-inch 2,560 × 2,560 micro-OLED displays from its predecessor, its lenses offer noticeably better clarity and an expanded FOV.
The Beyond 2 and 2e models are priced at $1,019 and $1,219, respectively, with discounts available for current Beyond 1 owners. They also debuted alongside a new halo-styled mount and Lightblocker facial interface, which are scheduled for release in Q3 2025.
