The clock is ticking for all virtual world enthusiasts and creators aspiring to showcase their innovations at this year’s OpenSimulator Community Conference. The deadline for submitting proposals is fast approaching, with October 29, 2024, being the cut-off date for this twelfth annual gathering of the OpenSim community.
"We hope that you can join us for our twelfth year celebrating the current and future use of open-source virtual worlds through creativity, technology, artistry, and education," expressed conference co-chair Cynthia Calongne, who is also known by her in-world name, "Lyr Lobo."
This exciting two-day event is scheduled for December 7 and 8. You’ll find an array of presentations that delve into creative, educational, technical, and experiential topics related to OpenSimulator and the open metaverse.
"We’re interested in your wonderful content, insights, and accomplishments," Calongne shared with Hypergrid Business, encouraging all interested parties to participate.
The organizers are particularly keen on presentations that highlight innovative content, major achievements within the OpenSim ecosystem, visionary ideas for the future of open-source virtual worlds, and inventive uses of OpenSimulator technology.
Each speaker will have a 20-minute slot to captivate their audience. Besides these engaging talks, attendees can look forward to community-sponsored tours, an Expo, content giveaways, and hypergrid exploration.
Expect proposal acceptance notifications to land in your inbox by October 31. Once accepted, speakers must register for the conference by November 7 to confirm their place in the program.
The conference will kick off on December 6 with music and art events, setting the stage for the main program on December 7 and 8.
If you have a presentation idea to submit, be sure to visit the OSCC’s Call for Proposals page.
