The lineup for Dexter: Resurrection just keeps getting better and better. Now adding to the star-studded cast is none other than Peter Dinklage, famously known for his role in Game of Thrones.
Just last month, the news broke that Uma Thurman, the renowned actress from Kill Bill, was joining the sequel series of Dexter. And now, according to Deadline, Peter Dinklage is also on board. Dinklage, whom most will recognize as Tyrion Lannister from Game of Thrones, has also graced the big screen in movies such as X-Men: Days of Future Past and Avengers: Infinity War. While we haven’t gotten an official synopsis for Dexter: Resurrection yet, Deadline did give us a sneak peek into the character Dinklage will portray.
Dinklage is set to take on the role of Leon Prater. Deadline gives us a snapshot of Prater, describing him as “a billionaire venture capitalist. To the outside world, he’s a generous philanthropist, but there’s a sinister side to his charm.” It seems like Dinklage’s character might step into the shoes of the main villain for the season. If you ask me, these ingredients could easily lead to Dexter setting his sights on him. Whether or not he succeeds, that’s anyone’s guess right now.
Interestingly, this isn’t our first introduction to this character. We’ve already learned that Thurman’s character, Charley, is Leon Prater’s head of security. Previously, Charley was depicted as “a former Special Ops officer. She took on a variety of prestigious security roles before becoming the clever and precise right-hand assistant to Prater.” The dynamic between Thurman and Dinklage is shaping up to be intriguing, and I’m eager to see how it all unfolds.
And let’s not forget, Michael C. Hall is making a comeback as Dexter himself, last spotted in the 2021 series New Blood. He’s also been lending his voice in the prequel series Dexter: Original Sin, narrating the younger version of his character’s adventures.
