Although it’s not officially confirmed, it’s pretty much an open secret that a Black Myth: Wukong DLC is in the works. When it will hit our screens is still under wraps, but a recent hint from the game’s director, Feng Ji, suggests it might be just around the corner.

According to a report from Insider Gaming, the buzz about the Black Myth: Wukong DLC started swirling after the Golden Joysticks Awards. During the Game of the Year acceptance speech, Feng Ji let slip, “there might just be some surprises waiting for you later this year.” This tantalizing hint makes it sound like we could be in for some new content from one of 2024’s most anticipated titles before year’s end.

It’s conceivable that Ji’s comment might be hinting at the game’s launch on Xbox. Yet, prior to this tease, Ji remarked, “you [players] might have already completed our game.” This suggests that the “surprise” is aimed at those who have wrapped up Game Science’s award-winning title.

With The Game Awards looming on the calendar, there’s a chance Ji was pointing to a possible unveiling during the event. This would be a prime moment to promote some DLC for Black Myth: Wukong, especially since it’s in the running for numerous awards, including Game of the Year.
