Elden Ring, the action-packed RPG, has truly made its mark by selling over 28.6 million copies as of now. This impressive achievement was shared by publisher Bandai Namco during their announcement of a new multiplayer-themed spin-off called Nightreign at The Game Awards last week. The sales figures reflect numbers up until the end of September.
Back in June, Elden Ring had already hit the impressive milestone of 25 million copies sold. Since then, an additional 3.6 million copies have made their way into gamers’ collections. This spike in sales was likely boosted by enticing discounts and the summer release of the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Highlighting the game’s phenomenal success, Daniel Ahmad from Niko Partners took to Twitter to point out that Elden Ring has outsold the entire Dark Souls franchise. Since its debut in 2011, the Dark Souls series has sold 27 million copies, which Elden Ring has now surpassed on its own.
