As the year kicked off at a sluggish pace, Xbox Game Pass is now revving up to speed. The end of January is shaping up to be pretty eventful for Game Pass subscribers. Just recently, Ninja Gaiden 2 Black made a surprise appearance, and coming right up, we’ll see Eternal Strands, Sniper Elite: Resistance, and Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector dropping on day one.
Even with this thrilling end to January, February’s lineup seems a bit sparse as far as confirmed titles go at this point. Far Cry New Dawn is set to make a solid entrance into the month, and if we’re lucky, Obsidian’s Avowed will make its debut with a bang on February 18. However, the service could definitely use a few more big games to maintain its streak.
Moving on to what could elevate the February roster, let’s talk about the game “Thank Goodness You’re Here!” Despite not clinching any awards at The Game Awards, this game was a fan favorite last year. Known for its sharp humor and clever gameplay dynamics, it was crafted by Coal Supper, a small but mighty indie studio based in Yorkshire. Players step into the shoes of a diminutive, quirky salesman making his way through a vibrant and eccentric Northern English town. Although currently unavailable on Xbox, this title would be a smashing addition to Game Pass.
Up next on the wish list is Civilization 6. While Civilization 7 is anticipated to finally launch on consoles and PC on February 11, this might be a prime time for Firaxis to introduce Civ 6 to Xbox Game Pass. Although Civ 7 promises a fresh twist on the franchise, Civ 6 can offer new players a grounding in the mechanics ahead of the next iteration’s release.
Another title deserving of spotlight time on Xbox Game Pass is Kingdom Come: Deliverance. With its sequel on the horizon and set to release on February 4, adding the original to Game Pass could attract more players. Since the series, rich in historical detail, maintains a niche audience, wider exposure through Game Pass could potentially boost Kingdom Come’s following.
Finally, fans have been eagerly awaiting Elden Ring on Game Pass. As one of the most requested titles, its inclusion could still be a game-changer, even three years post-launch. This move could expand its reach in anticipation of Elden Ring Nightreign’s upcoming release later this year.
All in all, with the addition of these games, February could really see Xbox Game Pass riding a wave of excitement, ensuring that subscribers remain engaged and entertained.
