As your Synth levels up, however, you’ll notice the grind for experience becomes a bit tougher. To keep your progress smooth, swap out your Synths regularly to make the most of their growing skills and continue unlocking abilities.

Take the “Psitek” Synth, for instance. Starting out, Psitek can light torches—handy right off the bat. Level it up to three, and you’ll unlock a fire slash that’s instrumental for navigating tricky dungeons by smashing incoming threats. Yet, many of Psitek’s subsequent upgrades revolve around combat prowess. So, strategically switching to another Synth might be your best bet to gain new abilities without burning through experience points!

Early on, you’ll end up with a boat that once belonged to the scientists, opening up a whole maritime adventure. The Genesis Archipelago is littered with countless small islands, each packed with treasures like extra hearts, items to boost your stats, and currency for in-game shopping. If exploration isn’t your thing, no worries—you can always make a beeline for the main islands to directly tackle the scientists and dismantle their shady operations.

The journey isn’t just confined to battling Synths on the main islands. Many optional islands harbor boss Synths, so aiming to catch all over 40 varieties of Synths is no quick task. Yet, every hidden corner of the Genesis Archipelago promises valuable rewards for the dedicated explorer.
