Hideaki Nishino has stepped into the spotlight as the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.
Previously, Nishino shared CEO duties with Hermen Hulst at the helm of PlayStation; while Nishino focused on the business aspects, Hulst was in charge of the studio group. In this reshuffle, Hulst will continue to oversee the studios and will now report to Nishino.
This leadership change comes amid a significant realignment at Sony, where CFO Hiroki Totoki has been elevated to CEO and president of the larger company. Additionally, Lin Tao, the senior vice president responsible for finance, corporate development, and strategy, is set to take over as the chief financial officer.
“I am genuinely honored to lead Sony Interactive Entertainment,” said Nishino. “Our strengths lie in technology and creativity, and we remain dedicated to crafting experiences that entertain everyone. We’re committed to expanding the PlayStation community, exploring new intellectual property, and pushing the boundaries of technology. I want to express my gratitude to Hermen for his leadership as he continues as CEO of the Studio Business Group. The support from the PlayStation community means the world to us, and I can’t wait to see what the future brings.”
Nishino will officially assume his new responsibilities on April 1st, 2025.
