How to Access Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) in FFXIV

Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) is a challenging new addition to Final Fantasy 14 that arrived with patch 7.15. This 24-player raid promises a tough boss encounter that demands a high level of teamwork. However, the effort is rewarded with some valuable loot.

### Discovering Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)

To set out on the Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) raid, you’ll first need to have a chat with the Wandering Minstrel over in Tuliyollal. By this point, you should be at a level 100 combat class (and yes, this happens to be the same spot where you access Dawntrail extreme trials). Don’t forget—finishing the main scenario quest for Dawntrail is a prerequisite.

Once you’ve got access, you’re good to go into the high-end duty finder. Keep in mind, though, an item level of at least 710 is required to join. You’ll also need a group, so gather up a party using a party finder or any other way you prefer.

### Trading Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic) Rewards

Both the Dais of Darkness mount and a new hairstyle can also make their way to the marketboard. So, if they catch your eye and you’d rather skip the tough battle, you can opt to fork over some gil instead. However, note that the other treasures, like the armor and the Shroud of Darkness mount, are market prohibited and need to be earned the hard way.
