In my experience with Dragon Age: The Veilguard, I’ve encountered very few glitches. It’s impressively polished right from the start. Still, no game is without its quirks, and the latest patch for Veilguard addresses a couple of specific issues that have bugged me.
First up, we have the welcome change: “New rings can now be compared against both equipped ring slots.” For someone like me, who’s still deeply immersed in the game and busy collecting and equipping new gear, this update is a blessing. Just like many role-playing games, Veilguard allows characters to wear multiple rings with unique magical properties. Previously, when you acquired a new ring, comparing it against the two you already had was frustrating since you could only weigh it against one at a time. It’s a relief that this little annoyance has been ironed out.
Now, onto the second bit of good news: “Fixed some instances where unintended music or sound effects would play.” For me, this fix targeted the most noticeable bug I encountered in the game. It happened just once, but it was a memorable glitch when the catchy battle music continued blaring even after the fight was long over. Picture me wandering around town with this tune playing relentlessly for about 20 minutes. I finally had to return to the Lighthouse to make it stop. Thankfully, the music is too stunning to silence entirely, especially since it’s crafted by legends Hans Zimmer and Lorne Balfe.
The complete patch notes cover a wide array of fixes, including issues I didn’t personally experience. For example, there’s “Rook’s body shape no longer changes unexpectedly after a cutscene with Emmrich” and “Adjusted an odd facial expression when Rook first meets Emmrich.” These notes made me chuckle a bit, and honestly, I’m kind of curious about what those looked like in action. I encourage you to skim through the full list I’ve included below to see if your own bugbears have been addressed. I’m certainly pleased mine were.
