If you’ve been immersed in Like A Dragon: Pirate Yakuza In Hawaii, you might know about the legendary golden balls, particularly linked to Goro Majima. As part of a sub-story, Majima sets out on a quest to gather all seven of these golden treasures.
These aren’t metaphorical; they’re actual gold balls scattered across different ports visited by Goromaru, reminiscent of the side quests in Like A Dragon: Gaiden. Some players hit a snag due to a bug preventing them from collecting all of them, but thankfully, that’s no longer an issue. So, the days of hurling rotten tomatoes and casting Kiryu’s shadow upon me should come to a close.
This resolution arrives with the game’s latest patch, 1.12, released by RGG on March 7. The patch notes state succinctly: “Fixed an issue where the golden ball could not be obtained.” However, RGG has left us wondering which ball caused the problem and why. Did one of the many booty-hunting pirates pinch it? The mystery remains unsolved. But what truly counts is that the balls are back, echoing Thin Lizzy’s sentiment about things returning that once were lost.
Here’s what else the patch addresses across all platforms:
– Resolved an issue that prevented manual saves.
– Fixed a bug where loading a saved game on a ship under specific conditions resulted in the player falling into the sea with no way back. (Quite the adventure, isn’t it?)
– Corrected a problem where arcade game scores weren’t being recorded.
– Tweaked various typographical errors and improved localization.
– A variety of other bug fixes to enhance stability and quality.
For PC gamers, additional updates include upgrading the game to Intel XeSS 2.0.1 and fixing a rare crash during resource loading. And if you’re dealing with random driver crashes on some NVIDIA GPUs, RGG advises setting your FPS cap at 60 in the settings.
If Pirate Yakuza hasn’t crossed your gaming radar yet, be sure to check out my review. There’s just a hint of concern over finding a middle-aged Japanese man in a shower amusing—perhaps I’ve lost some of my comedic touch.
