Now that the dust from the April 2 Nintendo Direct has settled, we have a much clearer picture of the games lineup for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. This includes a variety of exclusives, launch titles, and—perhaps most crucially—the release date for the console itself.
Before this wave of announcements, information had been trickling in fairly slowly. Since the initial hardware-focused reveal back in January, a lot of developers and publishers had been holding their cards close to their chests. But that’s all changed now.
Below, I’ve outlined a list of the Switch 2 games, covering everything from exclusives to third-party titles, and noted the developers and publishers who are on board from launch onward.
As of April 8, there have been updates to the list, including two new titles: “Mouse Work” and a Switch 2 version of the recently released “Suikoden I & II HD Remaster.”
### Switch 2 Exclusive Games
First on our list are the exclusive games heading to the Switch 2. Some are coming directly from Nintendo, while others are from various third-party studios:
### Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and GameCube Classics
In addition to the fully exclusive titles, there are games branded as “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition.” These are existing Switch 1 games that have been enhanced to take advantage of the Switch 2’s beefier hardware. This isn’t the same as backward compatibility; instead, these are available as “upgrade packs” for those who already own the Switch 1 versions, or as standalone releases for newcomers to the Switch 2.
Moreover, those who are subscribed to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack will have access to a selection of “GameCube Classics” right from day one.
### Other Announced Switch 2 Games
Alongside the exclusives and enhanced editions of Switch 1 titles, a wide range of other games from third-party developers have been confirmed. Some of these games are either new to multiple platforms or are making their debut on the Switch 2. Here’s a breakdown of these titles, which are set to enrich the console’s offerings.
