NVIDIA and AMD are set to introduce their budget-friendly GPUs in May, vying for the top spot in the mainstream GPU market.
## Big Moves by NVIDIA & AMD: Enter the RTX 5060 & RX 9060 XT
Gamers looking for affordable GPU options have had a tough time lately. The latest models, especially from NVIDIA, have been hard to come by, pushing prices way above the suggested retail levels. AMD’s RX 9070 series is also in high demand, making it rare to find at normal prices. But there’s good news on the horizon! Reports from Benchlife suggest that both NVIDIA and AMD are getting ready to roll out new offerings for the regular market, possibly as soon as next month.
Let’s start with NVIDIA, often called Team Green. They’re rumored to launch the GeForce RTX 5060 on May 19. As for its features, the RTX 5060 is expected to sport 8 GB GDDR7 VRAM operating at 28 Gbps over a 128-bit memory bus. However, it will require more power, with a 35W increase in TDP over the RTX 4060. Here’s how the RTX 5060 stacks up against its predecessor:
– 25% More CUDA Cores
– Same Memory Capacity
– Faster GDDR7 Memory at 28 Gbps
– Increased Bandwidth by 64%
– 30% Higher Power Consumption
Over at AMD, the excitement is building for the Radeon RX 9060 XT, expected to be showcased on May 21 during Computex, though it might not hit retail until June. This model will use the Navi 44 die on a 128-bit bus, available in 8GB and 16GB versions, much like NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 Ti. The RX 9060 XT will feature 2,048 SPs—half of the Radeon RX 9070 XT—with game clocks at 2620 MHz and boost clocks reaching 3230 MHz. It’s designed to deliver impressive performance for 1080p and 2K gaming.
We’ll be bringing you live coverage of the NVIDIA and AMD launches from the Computex 2025 floor, along with any exclusive previews we can get. The mid-range GPU market is heating up, and May is shaping up to be a crucial month for both companies.
