It seems like there’s a buzz in the air with a film adaptation of the newly-released game, Split Fiction, already in the works.
Variety has the scoop, revealing that Story Kitchen is spearheading the project. They are assembling a team of talented actors, writers, and a director to bring this game to life on the big screen. This isn’t their first rodeo, as they’re also involved in other gaming-to-film adaptations like It Takes Two, which is being produced by Amazon, and others such as Toejam and Earl, Slime Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
There’s quite a bit of chatter in Hollywood with top studios vying to be part of the action, with offers reportedly pouring in.
Split Fiction made its debut in March and it’s been a whirlwind since then. In just 48 hours, the game sold an impressive one million copies, and by the end of its first week, it had doubled those numbers.
The team at Hazelight couldn’t contain their excitement, posting a thrilled message on Bluesky: “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing,” they exclaimed, “Thank you to all of our new and old fans – we love how excited you are for our game.”
Meanwhile, the movie version of It Takes Two is gaining attention with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson on board, and the talented duo behind Sonic the Hedgehog, Pat Casey and Josh Miller, penning the script.
