Filming for the second season of the Fallout TV show had to hit the brakes due to the LA wildfires, but despite this setback, the show has been gaining momentum with some exciting new cast additions. The latest name making waves is none other than Kumail Nanjiani, who’s rumored to join Lucy, The Ghoul, and the rest of the crew.
If earlier buzz is to be believed, remember when we heard the Home Alone guy might play a quirky genius? Well, now it looks like the Brotherhood of Steel is getting a shot of muscle, too.
In reporter Jeff Sneider’s recent edition of The InSneider newsletter, it’s suggested that Nanjiani will step into a high-ranking role within the Brotherhood of Steel for Fallout’s second season. He’s no stranger to the screen, having showcased his talent in Marvel’s Eternals as Kingo and joined the Star Wars universe in Obi-Wan Kenobi as Haja Estree.
Nanjiani’s not just bringing dramatic flair but also a comedic touch, thanks to his roles in Silicon Valley and, amusingly, Gay of Thrones.
If he becomes a key figure in the Brotherhood hierarchy, it’s highly possible he’ll intertwine with the plotlines surrounding Aaron Moten’s Maximus in the upcoming season. Maximus, complete with power armor, was one of the leading trio from season one, alongside Ella Purnell’s vault dweller and, let’s not shy away from it, Walton Goggins’ undeniably charming Ghoul.
Could Nanjiani’s character end up as Maximus’ new superior officer—maybe a seasoned Paladin or Elder intent on keeping his troops disciplined as they scour the post-apocalyptic landscape for renegade laser weapons? Or perhaps he’ll be akin to the Mojave Brotherhood in New Vegas, stationed below ground, trying to keep it together.
Will we see Kumail Nanjiani navigating Fallout’s world, possibly while someone nearby tinkers with a plasma rifle or helps scribes tackle a malfunctioning computer virus? We’ll just have to tune in to find out.
