It’s a bit of a waiting game for PC gamers itching for the arrival of GTA 6, as it’s not slated to drop on PC right at launch. However, the gaming hardware giant Corsair seems to have an inkling about when we might expect it.
Take-Two, the publisher behind the Grand Theft Auto series, is still sticking to their guns, saying GTA 6 should land sometime this year. Of course, in today’s world of frequent release delays, nothing is set in stone. Another mystery we’re all pondering is whether a PC version is on the horizon. Recently, Take-Two hinted that their strategy doesn’t always involve simultaneous releases across all platforms. This strongly implies that a PC version is indeed in the pipeline, just not for the initial launch. Given the roaring success of GTA 5 and its online component on PC, it’s almost certain we’ll see GTA 6 on PC eventually. The big question remains: when exactly will that happen? Corsair might have some insight on that.
In a recent financial update – where they likely talked about their fantastic RGB products – Corsair Gaming’s financial VP, Ronald van Veen, had some words on the matter. He shared, “GTA 6 is probably the one everyone is talking about. And we’ll get a glimpse of that, I think, later on in the year for console. My understanding now is it’s going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC.” While this doesn’t serve as a definitive 2026 release date, it certainly gives PC enthusiasts a ballpark timeframe to look forward to (shout-out to VGC for the tip).
Take-Two, when discussing PC releases for its games, pointed out how Civilization 7 launched on both console and PC at the same time. However, they also stated, “We don’t always go across all platforms simultaneously. Historically, Rockstar has started with some platforms and then historically moved to other platforms.” Remember, GTA 5 took its sweet time coming to PC after debuting on PS3 and Xbox 360, even finding its way onto PS4 and Xbox One first. Yet, it feels safe to bet that we won’t have to wait for an entirely new console generation to play GTA 6 on PC. Fingers crossed on that one!
