Silent North, a sandbox survival shooter crafted by the talented folks at Combat Waffle, has officially hit the early access stage for both Quest and PC VR headsets.
If you’ve ever experienced the cult classic Rust by Face Punch Studio, released back in 2013, you’ll find Silent North hits similar notes. It offers a wide-open survival sandbox where you’re the one holding the reins. You can team up with others, ruthlessly backstab, or simply explore the intricacies of its ever-evolving world.
Scott Albright, the driving force behind Combat Waffle Studios, puts it this way: “Silent North offers a unique twist compared to our other game, Ghosts of Tabor. Instead of high-pressure raids filled with nerve-wracking tactical combat and gear hoarding, we’re diving into a sandbox world. The survival genre is vast, but we’ve noticed a gaping hole—a lack of truly immersive VR experiences. We’re here to change that.”
In true survival fashion, expect environmental challenges, roving bands of Infected—zombies by any other name—and other players on their own quests to survive.
Now labeled as an “alpha Early Access release,” Silent North is waiting for you on the Horizon Store for Quest 2 and newer models, as well as for PC VR users via Steam, all for a reasonable $20. Whether you’re a longtime survival enthusiast or just curious, this might be your next adventure.
