An avid Skyrim player recently pulled off an impressive feat by leveling up to 70 without ever venturing beyond the game’s starting area. Along the way, they also turned the Sneak skill into a Legendary Skyrim talent not once, but 11 times, which could eventually ramp up the game’s difficulty as they progress.
Skyrim offers a variety of shortcuts for quick leveling, though exploiting these can unintentionally lead to a tougher game experience. This is because enemy strength in Skyrim scales with the player’s level. Ordinarily, the increased difficulty is balanced by finding better loot during gameplay. However, rushing through levels by focusing on non-combat skills might leave players struggling in battles unless they quickly acquire high-level gear. Regardless of the challenges, it’s always fascinating to watch players advance so rapidly in Skyrim.
On Reddit, a user going by the name bogthebog shared footage from their current game session. They managed to reach Level 70 while still in the initial area—right after escaping Helgen and before stepping into the expansive world of Skyrim. At this stage, most players don’t exceed Level 2, even after dispatching every enemy, making bogthebog’s achievement quite extraordinary.
In total, bogthebog spent around seven hours grinding to level up. By continuously attacking Hadvar, who doesn’t become hostile, they pushed their Two-Handed skill to 100. Similarly, by sneaking and attacking him, they maxed out their Sneak skill, a notoriously easy skill to level up in Skyrim, and they’ve done this an incredible 11 times.
The Skyrim community remains notably active more than a decade after the game’s release. Despite its age, the game shows fewer signs of weariness than one might expect. Still, fans are eagerly awaiting The Elder Scrolls 6, announced back in 2018, but with little news since. With Bethesda having now tackled Starfield, there is hope among fans that the studio is focusing energy on the next Elder Scrolls entry.
Winner of over 200 Game of the Year awards, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim showcases a decade of adventuring.
