A year ago, Skull and Bones, Ubisoft Singapore’s pirate-themed action-adventure game, made its rather tumultuous debut on consoles and PCs. It quickly became one of Ubisoft’s most hotly debated releases. Yet, in today’s world, where games are constantly updated and improved post-launch, there’s always a sliver of hope for change. We’ve seen transformations before with titles like No Man’s Sky and Cyberpunk 2077—both initially faced backlash but ultimately grew into some of the most acclaimed games in recent memory.
