At Pure Xbox, we’ve often expressed our appreciation for Xbox Play Anywhere, and just recently, we shared a roundup of 10 fantastic games joining the Play Anywhere lineup in 2024. However, the service isn’t without its frustrations.
The primary issue lies in how convoluted Microsoft has made it to determine which games are compatible with Xbox Play Anywhere. While the Xbox Store occasionally tags such games, these indicators are frequently absent, and some Play Anywhere games don’t even appear on the Xbox PC app.
Thankfully, there’s finally a workaround! A passionate group of Xbox enthusiasts from the Xbox Era community took the initiative to compile a comprehensive “master list” of Xbox Play Anywhere titles that boasts over 1,100 games. This guide is a must-have for anyone navigating Xbox Play Anywhere—it’s both detailed and user-friendly!
We’re not planning to tread on their hard work by publishing the full list here, but you can check it out for yourself via this link:
The list represents a significant amount of research, but keep in mind it’s not foolproof, so you might stumble across games not included yet. Nonetheless, it serves as a valuable resource. They’ve even provided a “Game Submission Request” form for any titles you think should be added.
For those unfamiliar with “Xbox Play Anywhere,” it’s Microsoft’s promise that allows you to purchase a game on Xbox and enjoy it on the Xbox PC app too. Essentially, buying a console version gifts you a free PC version, which is a boon for those who like to switch between platforms.
This year, the service has welcomed several notable additions, and with Xbox’s head honcho, Phil Spencer, being a strong supporter, it’ll be fascinating to watch how the list evolves over the coming year.
